50 years of advancing technology in museums
Happy Birthday MCN!
We are Susan Edwards and Marla Misunas, co-chairs of the #MCN50 committee.
We’re working with MCN leadership to develop a whole year of community projects and events throughout 2017.
But we also need you to help make MCN’s 50th birthday a year to remember! ➙ Fill out this short form to let us know what you are interested in.
You can also check out the Get Involved page to see specific roles we are looking to fill throughout the year. Help with small tasks that can be completed in a few minutes (take a screenshot for us!), or take leadership of a project (produce an event, or manage an initiative). As the MCN2016 conference rolls around, we’ll be adding more opportunities to participate. We also hope you’ll reach out and suggest something. Just email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
About Susan and Marla
Marla Misunas was president of MCN from 2005–2007, and co-wrote “A Brief History of the Museum Computer Network” in 2007 with Richard Urban. Marla is putting her knowledge of MCN’s past to good use by helping us unearth stories about past events and people in the community. In her day job, Marla works as Collections Information Manager at SFMOMA.
Susan Edwards is a new MCN volunteer, although she been attending and presenting at MCN conferences since 2006. Susan is applying her experience with digital communications, project management, and event production to whip up some exciting experiences for the MCN community. Susan’s day job is Associate Director of Digital Experience at the Hammer Museum in Los Angeles.
