Connecting with Other Attendees

To connect with other conference attendees, we encourage you to opt-in to a public profile on Sched and set up your account on Slack. Think of Slack as a virtual hallway that can keep the conversations going after sessions wrap.

All attendees received invitations to both Sched and Slack upon registration.

We’ll have two official channels available in Slack.

  • #mcn2023: for general chatter, updates, introductions, etc.
  • #mcn2023-meetups: for sharing or finding meet-ups with other conference goers. Think lunches, coffees, happy hours, museum visits, and more.

Use this link to sign up if you’re not already in the MCN Slack.

Please email [email protected] if you need help with your accounts.

Conference Program

The most up-to-date date program is available on Sched. We encourage you to browse and bookmark sessions en route to Philadelphia.

Open Space Discussions

In addition to the sessions offered in the program, we’re hosting Open Space Discussions, a play on “unconference” style sessions that encourage all attendees to propose, facilitate, and partake in discussions meaningful to them. Learn more about this format on our blog and consider offering a topic during the Opening Circle.

All Open Space Discussions will be added to Sched at the conference.

Barnes Free Admission

The Barnes is offering MCN conference attendees free admission November 9–11. MCN attendees can present their conference badge, lanyard, and/or other registration designation or simply mention the conference at the box office.

Evening receptions

Your registration gets you access to two evening registrations:

Each evening reception includes passed appetizers and one drink ticket (which will be provided to you when you pick up your badge.)

Meals and dietary needs

We’re providing attendees with light refreshments at each evening reception and coffee breaks in between sessions. Please email [email protected] with any dietary needs.

Attendees can enjoy an extended lunch break on both November 9 and 10 to explore bites and sites around Philadelphia. Check out this list of restaurants, coffee shops, and more curated by local attendees.

Wi-fi

Free wi-fi is available to all conference attendees via AirPenn Net. You can connect to this network without a password.

Masks are optional but encouraged. Thank you for respecting people’s choices about masking. For more information about visitor guidelines to the Penn Museum, please visit their website
