Case Studies for Cultural Futures is an initiative to collect knowledge and insights gleaned from cultural organizations’ experiments with new technology. By bringing together project-focused case studies from across the cultural sector, we hope to foster an open exchange that can help the entire field grow into the future.
This website resource was created by NEW INC and the Museum Computer Network (MCN) with support from the Knight Foundation, this site features submissions from a wide range of cultural organizations and vendors. Each case study shares reflections on a project that used a new technology—or technology in a new way—at that organization. You’ll find information about each project’s goals, timeline, budget, funding, and outcomes, plus honest reflections about what went well with the project, what could have gone better, and what was learned along the way.
The Case Studies for Cultural Futures project was generously funded by the Knight Foundation.
