Presenters: Chiara Bernasconi, Project Manager, e Museum of Modern Art; Dan Phier, Media Technology Developeruseum of Modern Art; Shannon Darrough, Senior Media Developer, useum of Modern Art MoMA.org is home to a growing archive of exhibition websites, each custom-designed for special exhibitions at the MoMA. As diverse as the exhibitions they represent, these websites are one of the most compelling aspects of the Museum's online presence. Built through collaborations between the digital media department, outside consultants, exhibition curators, and artists, MoMA's exhibition websites contain a wealth of media—im-ages, video, maps, and timelines. They often provide additional information and context that can't be accommodated in MoMA's galleries and are available to a public who may not be able to see them in person. Using past and current work as examples, presenters will discuss various strategies used in the design, development, and management of exhibition websites including those for Talk to Me, Marina Abramović: The Artist Is Present, Take your time: Olafur Eliasson, F-111, and Cindy Sherman. Presented Saturday, Nov 10, 2012 at the Museum Computer Network conference in Seattle, WA. mcn.edu #mcn2012moma
